STANDING TALL

The young men of the Paul Laurence Dunbar Community Center in Butler were ready to fight March 16, 1966, as part of a boxing tournament held in Pittsburgh's South Side. From left, they are: George Potter, trainer; Paul Hrip, 125; Nick Russin, heavyweight; Reggie Barrett, 132; and Vince Lorenz, manager. Kate Folmer, the center's current executive director, said Tuesday that while boxing is no longer offered at Dunbar, the community center still focuses on youth programs including after-school studying, Boy and Girl scouting and 4-H. The Time Capsule feature will be published Wednesdays and Sundays in the Butler Eagle.
