Randal and Melissa Thompson

Melissa Amy and Randal Thompson, both of Connoquenessing Township were united in marriage at 3 p.m. Sept. 2 at the Garden Gate Restaurant in Prospect. The Rev. Gary Koch Sr. officiated. A reception followed at the restaurant.

The bride is the daughter of Fernando and Barbara Vagnozzi of Cheswick and Richard Amy and Barbara Kowola of Natrona Heights. Parents of the bridegroom are Charles and Deborah Thompson of Cranberry Township and Ella Link of Cabot.

The matron of honor was Mary McKinney of Sarver. Bridesmaids included Azucena McArthur of Manassas, Va.; Mara Semprevivo of New Kensington; Librada Vagnozzi of Lewisberry; and Tina Lincoln of Sarver. The flower girls were Macenna Simmons of Warren, Ohio; Stephanie Vagnozzi of Lewisberry; and Kristianna Lincoln of Sarver.

Serving the bridegroom as best man was Charles Thompson of Cranberry Township. Ushers included Fernando Vagnozzi of Cheswick, Walter Wojichowski of Harmony, Butch Bowers of Zelienople and Charles Vagnozzi of Vandergrift. The ring bearers were Alexander McArthur of Manassas and Andrew Vagnozzi of Vandergrift.

The bride is a 1994 graduate of Freeport High School and a 1996 graduate of the Newport Business Institute in New Kensington. She works as an office manager for Clearwater Construction in Mercer.

The bridegroom graduated in 1978 from Seneca Valley High School. He is a self-employed inspection mechanic at Bowers Garage in Zelienople.

The couple is making their home in Connoquenessing Township and is planning a honeymoon trip to Walt Disney World.
