Monday — Chassidie McCormick, 23, was arrested for allegedly stealing her mother's Ford Explorer last week from their South Monroe Street home.Pamela Kuhrt said her daughter took the SUVon Friday without her permission. Kuhrt on Sunday reported the vehicle stolen.Butler Township police, about 2:15 a.m. Monday, found the vehicle parked behind the Super 8 motel on Route 8 South. The defendant and her two infant children were in a room at the motel. McCormick was arraigned on charges of theft and receiving stolen property.Monday — John Lucas reported a Pioneer compact disc player valued at $170 was taken overnight from a car parked at his West Pearl Street home.

4:03 p.m. Sunday — A thief stole cans of baby formula and a large bag of dog food from the Bi-Lo Food Store at the Point Plaza Shopping Center.The thief, captured on a store security camera, is described as a white man, about 6 feet tall with dark hair and a mustache. He was wearing a dark polo shirt and blue jeans.Police said the man reportedly drove off in a copper-colored, newer model Chevrolet pickup truck. The pickup was last seen traveling behind the store headed toward Route 68.Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.1:40 p.m. Sunday — John Sipe Jr., 30, of NewCastle was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 422.12:20 a.m. Saturday — Thomas Call, 45, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Benbrook Road.6:13 p.m. Friday — William Cypher, 41, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting a Wal-Mart security officer while trying to shoplift merchandise from the store at Butler Commons. Cypher is charged with robbery, simple assault, retail theft and trespass.He was arraigned on charges and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bond.4:40 p.m. Thursday — A16-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly assaulting a Wal-Mart security officer while trying to shoplift merchandise from the store.The boy, who police did not identify, is charged in juvenile court with robbery, simple assault, retail theft and possession of small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.10:43 p.m. Wednesday — Sandra Angus, 41, of Lyndora was charged following an investigation into a theft at the Wal-Mart store. Angus is charged with theft, retail theft and receiving stolen property.12:54 a.m. Sept. 3 — A17-year-old boy was arrested for DUI and other charges following a traffic stop on Route 8 South near the Greater Butler Mart.In addition to DUI, the teen, who police did not identify, is charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, underage drinking and numerous other traffic-related violations.David Pfennigwerth, 19, no address given, a passenger in the boy's car, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and underage drinking.

8:25 a.m. Monday — Acar driven by Shari Penrod, 39, of Butler struck a sign along Shields Road in Mercer Township. She was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Sunday — Someone between Sept. 4 and Sunday vandalized the inside of an abandoned West Eldorado Road house in Parker Township. More than $1,000 in damage to the home's windows, walls and doors was reported. Howard McElheny of Glenshaw, Allegheny County, owns the house.1:55 p.m. Saturday — Acar driven by Donald Gregg, 50, of Slippery Rock and a pickup truck driven by Matthew Chestnut, 30, of Grove City collided at Stoughton and Crestview roads in Slippery Rock Township.2:33 a.m. Saturday — Adam Baldauff, 36, of East Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at New Castle Road and Hansen Avenue in Butler.Saturday — Four people were arrested for driving under the influence and another was arrested on drug charges during a roving DUIpatrol on Route 8 in Center Township. Police also cited three people for underage drinking and issued 21 traffic tickets.

9:30 a.m. Sept. 5 — The Zelienople Electrical Department reported the theft of scrap copper, valued at $200, which was stored in a bin outside of the borough garage on North Jackson Street.

Sunday — A green and tan golf bag containing six clubs was found in a Tidball Avenue yard. A wallet with no identification and a green nylon jacket were found inside the bag. The owner of the bag may claim it by contacting Grove City Police.Sunday — Grove City Police arrested Christopher Milliren, 35, of East Pine Street, on a warrant for simple assault filed by state police.Sometime between 2 p.m. Saturday and 6:45 a.m. Sunday someone vandalized a car, owned by George Strunk, 58, of Nelson Street by breaking off both wiper blades. Anyone with information is asked to call Grove City Police.Sept. 7 — A blue Nissan truck owned by Gordon McClearn, of North Center Street, Grove City, had the passenger side window busted out. Anyone with information should contact Grove City Police.Sept. 7 — Police received a call of a hit and run to 1997 Mercedes Benz owned by Ann Shannon, of East Pine Street. The incident is thought to have occurred while the vehicle was parked at the Penn Grove Hotel between the hours of 8 a.m. and noon on Sept. 6.Sept. 7 — James Chewning, 22, of Conway was arrested for DUI following a traffic violation on Madison Avenue.
