Mary L. Lorenzini
Mary L. Gingo Lorenzini, 90, of Outlook Pointe in Saxonburg, formerly of College Street, died of natural causes Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 24, 1915, in Butler, she was a daughter of Charles and Josephine Viglione Gingo.
Mrs. Lorenzini was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also had been the co-owner of Reno's Dry Cleaners and Tailor Shop on East Brady Street for 45 years and was the social director and the youth director at St. Paul Catholic Elementary School for more than 20 years.
She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and was the founder and charter member of the Second Half Club at St. Paul Parish. She was also a past president of St. Paul Altar Society, the St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers, the Butler Knights of Columbus Council 866 Auxiliary and the Fellowship of Churches. She was a member of the Order of Alhambra, Butler Jaen Caravan and the VFW Post 249 Auxiliary and a charter member of the Pennsylvanians for Human Life.
She volunteered as a teacher aide at the Clarence Brown Special School in Butler and was a former Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout den mother at St. Paul School. She also volunteered for the March of Dimes, the Heart Association and the American Cancer Society, was associated with the Community Action Committee and was a charter member of the Butler Christian Council on Decency.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Chelsey Jo) Blum of Butler and Mrs. Ronald (Joyce Ann) Crookston of Trafford; a son and his wife, Charles P. and Nancy Lorenzini of Butler; and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Vero of Butler.
She also is survived by four grandchildren, Ron Blum Jr., Brian and Nicole Lorenzini and Tiffany Oliver; three step-grandchildren, William and Eric Crookston and Laura Fusco; eight great-grandchildren, Trey and Kaneisha Lorenzini, Olivia and Gabrielle Blum, Amanda, Kayla, and Cierra Lorenzini and Benecio Oliver; three step-great-grandchildren: Melissa, Justin and Emily Crookston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Loreno J. "Reno" Lorenzini, whom she married Sept. 26, 1940, died April 12, 1990. A brother and two sisters also preceded her in death.
<B>LORENZINI </B>— Friends of Mary L. Gingo Lorenzini, who died Sunday, July 30, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N.
