Worthington

Clara Leona Worthington of 541 N. Leavitt Road, Leavittsburg, Ohio, passed peacefully with her family by her side on Friday at the home of her daughter.

In West Sunbury, on Nov. 26, 1919, Leland and Laura Belle Deal Scott welcomed the birth of their daughter, Clara.

Clara obtained her education in West Sunbury, where she lived during her formative years.

Edward L. Worthington, a friend of Clara's brother, arrived for a visit; and he was greeted on the porch by Clara. This was the beginning of a friendship which led to the marriage of Clara and Edward on Nov. 4, 1938, held in the family home where they met.

Clara and Edward relocated to the Leavittsburg area in 1954. She was a homemaker and later worked at Johnson Rubber in Middlefield, Ohio, retiring in 1982 from her duties as a machine operator.

The enjoyable art of embroidering provided her the opportunity to embroider blankets for her grandchildren. Clara also enjoyed quilting. cooking and watching "Emeril Live" on the Food Channel. She received great inspiration from the writings of Pastor Joe which appears in the newspaper.

Clara was recently honored by the Red Hatters Razzle Dazzle Sweethearts and crowned Queen for the Day.

Cherished memories of Clara will be carried on by her loving and caring family, her son, Philip (Bobbie) Worthington of Leavittsburg, daughters, Rita (Eddie) Kawecki of Leavittsburg and Yvonne (William) Witt of Newton Falls, Ohio; adored grandchildren, Tommy, Sherri, Sandi, Gayle, Robbie, Rachel, Tracy, Sammy, Travis, Curtis, Gregory, Jeff and Erin, and beloved great-grandchildren, Tabitha, Tyler, Thomas, Morgan. Lauren, Tiffany, Samantha, Brooke, Michael, Joshua, Christopher, Kyndall, Kameron, Michael, Brendon and Robyn.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Edward, on Aug. 9. 1994; her daughters, Nancy L. Worthington and Carolyn I. Snider, and her brothers, George Scott and Floyd Scott.

<B>WORTHINGTON </B>— Services for Clara Leona Worthington, who died Friday, July 28, 2006, were held today at <B>Borowski Memorial Home</B>, Newton Falls, Ohio, with Carol Yablonovsky officiating. Clara will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna, Ohio.The family requests that material tributes may be made in memory of Clara to the Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
