CENTER TWP — The Southernaires gospel group will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road. Also set to perform are Keith and Ted and The Kingsmen Quartet.

The Butler Bible Institute is offering the two semester credit course, Christology 101, beginning Sept. 5.The class will be taught by school founder Robert Ogden. Classes will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 6 and 19 and on Tuesdays through Dec. 5.The course discusses the Scripture verses in the Bible that relate to Christ from his pre-existence to before his death. A second course will be offered this winter that discusses his death, resurrection and ascension.Cost for the fall course is $100. BUTLER TWP — Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will host a pig roast from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 9.Music will be provided by Sojourner, the contemporary praise and worship band. Activities for children will be offered, with a worship service to be held at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.Cost is $7.50 for adults, $3 for children 3 to 10 years old and free for children under 3.
