Elementary — $1.45Secondary — $1.55Building projects:At the senior high school, two phases of a three-phase renovation project have been completed. When juniors and seniors return, they will find a new SVTV studio and larger cafeteria/kitchen. The third phase, a three-floor wing on the north side of the building, will be finished in the spring.
New policies:A revised relations with special interest groups policy now allows fliers to go home from only those organizations directly connected to the district (PTA/PTO, booster groups). Nonprofit fliers will be offered on the counters or posted in the buildings.A recently revised attendance policy revision tightens absences, stating that a student shall not be granted credit for any semester course if absences from that course total more than 10 periods per semester or for any full year courses that total more than 20 periods for the year.
New programs:In the elementary schools, teachers will get new computers on their desks as well as the installation of computer pods for student use. A total of 525 computers have been bought. Also, the district has bought from Compass Learning an educational software tool called Odyssey that helps to both instruct and assess reading and mathematics skills for each elementary student, grades K-6. In the secondary schools, Apangea, similar software to Compass, will be installed for mathematics skills.New Teachers
