Carrie M. Claypoole

Carrie M. Claypoole, 90, of Chicora died at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital after an illness.

Born Feb. 29, 1916, in Craigsville, Armstrong County, she was the daughter of Clarence and Rebecca M. Palum Earley.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Claypoole was a member of the United Methodist Church of Karns City and the Sawyer Bible Class of the church. She also belonged to Chicora Senior Center.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Connie) Wolford of Karns City, Mrs. Raymond (Jean) Silvis of West Sunbury, Sandra L. Lincoln of East Brady, Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Ciani of Sarver and Carol Susan McCue of Chicora; and a sister, Mrs. Herman (Alberta) Boyer of Youngstown, Ohio.

She also is survived by 18 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Lawrence W. "Bus" Claypoole, whom she married Feb. 29, 1936, died July 2, 1996.

A granddaughter, a great-grandson, a sister, a son-in-law and two grandsons-in-law preceded her in death.

<B>CLAYPOOLE </B>— Friends of Carrie M. Claypoole, who died Tuesday, July 11, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Friday at the <B>Steighner Funeral Home</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Karns City, with the Rev. Glee Foster officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Sugar Creek Township, Armstrong County.
