Cats!

I feel horrible for anyone who's had to experience losing a much loved pet. But, I feel even more sorry for the pet whose death could've been prevented. I suppose it's a matter of one's opinion as to where a cat belongs. However, if you have a cat as a pet then it should be inside. I am a huge animal lover and have rescued many. I've learned a lot both in personal and rescue experiences. The one lesson that can prevent learning any other is: KEEP YOUR CAT INDOORS. Cats are carriers of many incurable diseases (AIDS, Leukemia, FIP). What's sad is, cats can transmit this through a screened door/window. With that being said, is it fair that I cannot leave my windows open for fresh air because I'm not comfortable with the cats coming into my yard and up to my windows? Not only hissing at my cat but marking. The marking causes my cat to act instinctively and start marking in my house. Who is responsible for the cleaning/repair? I guess it takes losing a cat to poison or a horrible disease like AIDS to realize the best place for a domestic cat is indoors. I've learned it the hard way and my inside cat has adjusted rather nicely to being in!

And one more comment regarding the burial of your cat...I really hope it was buried with governmental standards. In most states, it is illegal to just bury a pet (or anything really)in your backyard for unsanitary reasons.
