Seneca Valley graduate Ben Gutmann will continue his academic and swimming careers at Westminster College.

A three-time qualifier for the WPIALchampionships, Gutmann made the state meet in the 100-meter breaststroke his senior year after placing third in the event at the WPIALmeet.

His best times include 1 minute, 1.1 seconds in the 100 breaststroke, 51.8 in the 100 freestyle, 2:04.4 in the 200 individual medley and 22.7 in the 50 freestyle.

The Westminster men's swimming team posted a 9-1-1 dual meet record last season and won its third Presidents' Athletic Conference championship in four years. Rob Klamut is the team's head coach.

The son of Greg and Kitty Gutmann of Cranberry Township, Gutmann will major in history and secondary education at Westminster.
