Confer Sr.

Harold A. Confer Sr., 81, of Zelienople died Wednesday at UPMC Passavant hospital, McCandless Township.

Born Dec. 8, 1924, in Lickingville, Clarion County, he was the son of Frank and Dessie Bradybough Confer.

He served in the Army during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart.

Mr. Confer was an avid reader and enjoyed working in his yard.

Surviving are a daughter, Darla J. Hembree and her husband, Michael, of Zelienople; a son, Denis J. Confer and his wife, Cindy, of Suffolk, Va.; and four grandsons, Brian, Aaron, Erik and Herky Confer. Three great-grandchildren also survive.

His wife, Marian Mayer Confer, and a son, Harold A. "Herk" Confer Jr. preceded him in death.

<B>CONFER</B> — Friends of Harold A. Confer Sr., who died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. A blessing service will follow at noon Saturday at the funeral home.
