Chicora man charged in child porn case
SAXONBURG — A Chicora man on Monday waived his preliminary hearing before District Judge Sue Haggerty on charges of possession and dissemination of child pornography.
David P. Ellenberger, 34, of 510 Trimbur Road turned himself in to authorities Monday after being charged with 64 counts of possession of child pornography and 10 counts of dissemination of child pornography.
He was released on his own recognizance.
Ellenberger is accused of sending a pornographic image of a child to an undercover police officer using the Internet on May 9, 2005, while living at 110 Railroad St. in Cabot.
Subsequently, the Pennsylvania State Police Computer Crime Unit, located in the Butler barracks, seized Ellenberger's computer.
The charges are based on an examination of the computer.
