4:26 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Laura Madru, 48, of Parker struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Tina Smith, 33, of Butler on Center Avenue. Following the first impact, Madru's vehicle then collided with a flatbed truck driven by Brett Kymer, 19, of Springdale. The second impact sent the flatbed truck into a parked SUV owned by Jay and Penny Bruce of Butler. All three drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured. Madru was cited for not driving at a safe speed.1:42 p.m. Friday — Peggy Jarvin of Butler reported the theft of 15 CDs worth a total of $150 and caps on her motor from her vehicle while it was parked on Zeigler Avenue within the previous two weeks.12:14 a.m. Friday — An unknown vehicle struck a truck owned by Alvin Stephens of Butler that was parked at his residence at 146 N. Main St. His vehicle was scratched and the mirror knocked off the driver's side.10:24 p.m. Thursday — John Locke, 44, of Butler was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness after police saw him stumbling on East Locust Street. When police searched Locke, they found a metallic crack pipe in a pocket.1:26 p.m. Thursday — Lee McKain, 29, of Butler was charged with theft by deception after the Monroe Hotel on East Jefferson Street reported his $53.96 check from May 13 was returned for insufficient funds.5:05 p.m. May 20 — A vehicle driven by Tricia Fenstermacher, 47, of Renfrew struck a parked vehicle owned by Richard Cetti of Butler in the Armstrong parking lot on North Main Street.2:21 p.m. May 17 — A vehicle driven by Melissa Wood, 35, of Butler and a vehicle driven by Dorothy Petroski, 86, of Butler collided at the intersection of East Penn and Franklin streets. Both drivers, who were wearing seat belts and were not injured, told police they stopped for stop signs before proceeding through the intersection but had difficulty seeing because of heavy rain.
6:25 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Monica Snyder, 23, of Fenelton and a van driven by Ruth Ann Schnur, 47, of Butler collided at the intersection of Bonniebrook Road and Pine Drive in Summit Township. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured.8:20 p.m. Wednesday — Casey L. Price, 28, of Portersville was charged with simple assault and harassment following an alleged altercation with his girlfriend, Erica White, 29, that started at Moraine State Park and ended at their Worth Township residence. White received a minor knee injury. Price turned himself into police on Friday. He was arraigned before District Judge Kevin O'Donnell and released on his own recognizance pending a preliminary hearing before District Judge Clifford Woessner in Slippery Rock.Thursday — William Chuba, 48, reported the mailbox at his Prospect residence at 176 Grindel Road was damaged between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 5 a.m. Thursday. Anyone with information about the incident should call state police at 724-284-8100.
