Elsie P. Gaiser
Elsie P. Gaiser, 81, of Kittanning Pike, Chicora, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday at the Butler Memorial Hospital after an illness.
Born in Karns City, Nov. 15, 1924, she was the daughter of James E. and Clara Elizabeth Jordan McCollough.
She was a member of the Karns City United Methodist Church, the Who Do Class of the church, the United Methodist Women and the church choir.
Mrs. Gaiser was a 1942 graduate of the Fairview Township Karns City High School.
She enjoyed quilting, traveling, Pirate and Steelers games, golfing, gardening, shopping trips, attending gospel music concerts and spending time with her family.
During World War II, she was a member of the Butler County Rationing Board; and she retired from the Karns City School District as a member of the high school cafeteria staff.
Surviving are her husband, O. Jack Gaiser, whom she married Sept. 16, 1944, in Chicora; three sons, the Rev. Thomas A. Gaiser and his wife, Charlene, of Bowling Green, Ohio, James J. Gaiser and his wife, Irene, of East Brady and Colin M. Gaiser and his wife, Jodi, of Chicora; a daughter, Kimberly S. Gaiser of Chicora; seven grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
She also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Virginia C. McClain of Chicora and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Floyd J. and E. Fred McCollough; and two sisters, Mary F. Dunmyre and Alice O. Green preceded her in death.
<B>GAISER </B>— Friends of Elsie P. Gaiser, who died Sunday, April 30, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B>, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia. Visitation also will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Karns City United Methodist Church, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Glenn Kohlhepp, former pastor and retired district superintendent, and the Rev. Robert Huber, pastor of the North Street Christian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Annandale Cemetery, Boyers.
