Butler Church of the NazareneMusic for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will be provided by the Men's Quartet. Children's Church will be directed by Deb Shutak.A Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) trip to Somerset County is planned Saturday. Participants will visit the memorial of Flight 93 and tour the Quecreek Mine. Lunch will be at the Oakhurst Teahouse. Cost is $18.50 each and reservations are required. The group will leave the church at 7:30 a.m.

Chapel on the hill Assembly of GodDavid and Karen Brickley will lead the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. services Sunday at Chapel on the Hill Assembly of God Church, Route 208, Emlenton. The Brickleys are Christian recording artists and authors.

Christ Community U.M.The sacrament of Holy Communion will be observed during the 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 and 10 a.m. Sunday services of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, Butler Township. In observance of Pentecost Sunday, members are asked to wear red clothing.The Youth Group will hold a thank you celebration at 6:30 p.m. Sunday for those who have assisted in the program during the past year.The church is currently updating its historical records. Christ's OutreachHoly Communion will be celebrated during the 7 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday services at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave. Music will be provided by Patty Helms and the Tom Walker Family.Prayer at the Altar will be available at 1 p.m. Tuesday.Caravan Kids will hold their graduation ceremony at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The fellowship dinner at 6:45 p.m. will be pot luck.Two new adult studies will be offered starting Sunday. "Christians in Conflict" with the Rev. Palmer will examine conflict and provide tools for resolving issues and finding peace. "Faith Connections" with Mike McCracken will be an eight week study of Ezekiel and Esther.An updated church directory is being planned. Appointment times are available from 3 to 9:30 p.m. June 19 and 20. Participants should sign up at the church or call the church office to make an appointment time. A make-up day will be held in September for those not available during the initial times.

Covenant PresbyThe Pentacost Outdoor Worship Service and Apportionment family picnic will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. The service will be held under a tent on the church lawn. The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated, new members received and newly elected church officers ordained and installed.The Apportionment offering, which provides funds for Presbytery, Synod and General Assembly needs, will be received at the picnic following the service. The per capita figure for 2006 is $23. Participants should take a tureen, salad or dessert to share. The Fellowship and Outreach Committee will provide meat and beverages.A half-hour Special Needs Communion will be held at 11:30 a.m. June 8. A lunch and fellowship will follow the service which is for those restricted by mobility, disability and health related issues. Drivers are needed to provide transportation for those attending the service.

First BaptistDave and Keara Trepanier will speak at the 6 p.m. Sunday service at First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St. The couple will talk about their service at Baptist Bible College of the Caribbean.Members of the Kingdom Seekers Sunday school class will meet after the 6 p.m. Sunday service for an ice cream social at Alameda Park.The congregation of First Baptist Church will be among those participating in a work week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through June 10 at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Slippery Rock. Lodging and meals will be provided.The Women's Missionary Fellowship will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Baptist Youth Center for a year-end dinner and election of officers. Participants should take a tureen or salad. Rolls, beverages and desserts will be provided. Amusical program will be provided by Elaine Brown.

First English LutheranAn evening service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.

First U.M.The Spectrum group of First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., will host a Family First Friday at 6 p.m. Friday. The event, featuring crafts, games, food and worship is held at 6 p.m. the first Friday of every month in the Spectrum room.

Grace @ Calvary LutheranGraduates will be recognized and Sunday school attendance awards given out at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St.A five-week women's Bible study titled "Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts" will begin at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the church library.On Sunday evening the church will host the Synod caucus for the Synod Assembly to be held the following week.

New Life Christian MinistriesThe Lord's Supper will be celebrated at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at New Life Christian Ministries, Knoch Senior High School, 345 Knoch Road, Saxonburg.Teams of children, teens and adults will participate in a prayer walk from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Sunday in Saxonburg. Participants should meet at the flagpole at Knoch High School to begin the event in prayer. Those walking should wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Aprayer time will be held at the school for those unable or who prefer not to walk.A church picnic will follow the 10 a.m. Sunday service at 127 Knoch Road, the new home of the church. Meridian U.P.The junior youth of Meridian United Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., Butler Township, will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday for the first Saturday event of the season. Open to students in first through sixth grade, the events will be held Saturdays throughout the summer.Pentacost will be celebrated at the 10 a.m. Sunday service. Oak Hills ChristianThe summer schedule will begin this week at Oak Hills Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Old Plank and Township Line Roads. Sunday school will begin at 9 a.m. and services will follow at 10 a.m.

Old Union PresbyVolunteers from Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, are being sought to lead one-night lessons for Bible school in July. St. John's ReformedThe summer schedule will begin this week at St. John's Reformed Church, Route 68, Connoquenessing Township. Sunday school will begin at 9 a.m. and the service will follow at 10 a.m.The Sacrament of Communion will be celebrated and God and Family Awards will be distributed at the 10 a.m. Sunday service.

St. John U.C.C.Communion will be served at the 8:35 and 11 a.m. Sunday services Sunday at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City.Summer hours will begin June 11 when regular worship and Sunday School will be held concurrently at 10 a.m.

St. Mark's Evangelical LutheranThere will be a vacation Bible school staff meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, in the Choir Robing Room at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St.St. Mark's will donate baked goods to Meals On Wheels in June. Donations of cakes, cupcakes, pies, cookies, gingerbread and sweet breads are needed. Desserts should not include cream pies, nuts or icing. All items should be wrapped for freezing and left in the Fellowship Hall kitchen by 1 p.m. June 12.Blood pressure screenings will be done Saturday and Sunday.Holy Communion will be served at all weekend services. The weekend is also designated as Mission Days.The Primary Department is sponsoring a "Beach Day" during Sunday School on June 18. The event is open to children ages 2 through grade six.

St. Peter's EpiscopalThe summer worship schedule will begin this week at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. The congregation will also acknowledge the 40 years that the Rev. High School graduates will also be honored during the service. The Pentecost Offering will be received.The annual Pentecost soup and salad luncheon will follow the Sunday service.
