John 'Jack' Zuck

John C. "Jack" Zuck, 70, of Lyndora, formerly of Erie, died Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

He retired as a mac-hine shop teacher at the Butler Area Vocational-Technical School.

Mr. Zuck was an avid racquetball player and a lifelong YMCA member. He also enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are his wife, Anne Zuck; his mother, Alverta Zuck of Edinboro; five children, Wendy Reichart of Edinboro, Eleanor Tucker and her husband, Tim, of Virginia Beach, Va., Elaine Rihn and her husband, Kevin, of Ijamsville, Md., Michael Zuck and his wife, Deanne, of Triangle, Va., and Jennifer Duerr and her husband, Chris, of Phoenixville in Chester County; and six stepchildren, Lynette Costa of Sewickley, Christine Costa of Santa Barbara, Calif., Karen Laughner and her husband, Randy of Renfrew, Margaret Carroll and her husband, Kevin, of Long Beach, Calif., Kathryn Wassum and her husband, Erik, of Butler and John Costa III and his wife, Paula, of Meridian.

Also surviving are two brothers, Ronald Zuck of Denver, Colo., and Richard Zuck of Erie; and five sisters, June Fuller of Charlestown, S.C., Nina Fischer of Visalia, Calif., Sue Miskell of Albemarle, N.C., Bonnie Laskowski of Gaston S.C, and Mary Zuck of Edinboro.

He also is survived by his 22 beloved grandchildren, who loved and adored him. They were the light of his life.

<B>ZUCK </B>— An open memorial luncheon for the family and friends of John C. "Jack" Zuck, who died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, will be from noon to 4 p.m. May 7 at the Butler Days Inn.Memorial donations may be made to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
