The SlipperyRock HighSchool girls 1,600-meter relay team of Abby Basta, Casey McCaffrey, Elissa McCune and Janelle Hartzell finished second at the District 10 Class AA Track and Field Championships Saturday to qualify for a trip to the state meet, which begins Friday in Shippensburg.

Basta also qualified for the state meet in the 100-meter hurdles, placing fifth, but meeting the qualifying standard with a time of 16.01 seconds.

Following are the Slippery Rock placers at the district meet.

Boys1,600-meter run: 8-Nate King 4:48.21;

300-meter hurdles: 6-Paul McConnell 43.02;

Shot put: 4-Dan Dillman 48-Z\v

Girls400-meter run: 6-Casey McCaffrey 1:03.22, 8-Elissa McCune 1:03.70;

1,600-meter run: 4-Andrea Shaffer 5:25.22;

100-meter hurdles: 5-Abby Basta 16.01;

High jump: 5-Andrea Shaffer 4-11;
