Butler Junior High receives computer software award

Butler Junior High School has been awarded a $2,500 grant from Best Buy to enhance its science department curriculum.

The award was given to the school for integrating technology into its curricula, according to a news release from the company.

The funds will be used to buy new computer software and hardware so students can create multimedia presentations on a variety of science topics, such as meteorology, earth science, chemistry, physics and astronomy.

The award is part of Best Buy's Teach program. Public and private elementary, middle and high schools within 50 miles of a Best Buy store are eligible to apply for the grant.
