Music for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will be provided by Deb Shutak. Children's Church will be directed by Betty McIndoe.

The Children's Department is sponsoring a trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 27. Cost is $6 per child and $9 per adult. Contact Millie Martsolf for reservations.

Sunday school classes of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, Butler Township, will meet at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in Oz Hall for a closing celebration. Teachers and helpers will be recognized for their assistance with the program. Members should take a breakfast treat to share. Juice and coffee will be provided.Don Loomis will lead the 8:30 a.m. contemporary service Sunday. He will speak about the Mission Team's work trip to Vancleve, Miss.Members of the Disciple I and Jesus in the Gospels Bible study classes will graduate and be recognized during the 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday services.Final weekly meetings for Senior Dry Bone Posse will be held on Wednesday and Junior Dry Bone Posse on May 25.Registration is currently under way for the vacation Bible school program to be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon June 27 through June 30. "God's Top Ten" a musical performed by the Children's Choir will be presented at the 7 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday services at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave. There will be no Sunday school classes for children due to the musical.The Children's Choir will meet from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday for final rehearsal. Amanda Sybert will also provide music for the Sunday service.The youth will host a spaghetti dinner at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Concord Presbyterian Church, 625 Hooker Road, West Sunbury, will commission 24 members of its Arizona Mission Work Team at the Sunday morning service. The team will travel to Cook College and Seminary in Tempe, Ariz., for one week to work with Native American congregations.Church school teachers and officers will be recognized and Sutton and Harper Scholarships will be awarded Sunday.The church will host a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday to raise funds for the mission trip to Arizona.Offerings will be received through the end of May for the Church World Service Blanket Appeal.

Aservice of awards and recognitions will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. Children, youth and teachers who have participated in the Sunday school program will be honored.The choir will also be recognized at the 11 a.m. Sunday service. Areception will follow in the Assembly Room to honor the choir, its organist and director.Dr. Linda Day, editor of the book of essays "Engaging the Bible in a Gendered World"will conclude her presentation to the Seekers Class at the 9:45 a.m. Sunday meeting in the Assembly Room. She will speak on the book of Lamentations.Michael Desnoyers, tenor section leader of the Covenant Choir, will perform a recital at 3 p.m. Saturday in the sanctuary. An offering will be received to fund Desnoyers' trip to Lucca, Italy, to study music over five weeks this summer.

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will be among congregations participating in a retreat for couples and youth sponsors from 5:30 p.m. Friday to 3 p.m. Saturday at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Slippery Rock. Fee to attend is $20.A prayer breakfast and work day will be held Saturday at the church.
