Mildred Fryer Finney
Mildred Elizabeth "Millie" Fryer Finney, 85, of Buffalo Township, formerly of New Kensington, died Friday at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Harrison Township, Allegheny County.
Born Sept. 13, 1920, in Upper Burrell Township, Westmoreland County, she was the daughter of Charles Roy and Rebecca Baxter Fryer.
She lived in New Kensington most of her life, and she and her husband moved to Assisted Living at Rosebrook in Buffalo Township nine months ago.
Mrs. Finney retired in 1982 as a clerk and buyer at Altmeyer's Home Stores in New Kensington after 27 years.
She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Kensington and the North Washington Senior Citizens.
She enjoyed raising flowers and gardening, solving crossword puzzles and reading the newspaper daily. She also loved animals.
She was the beloved wife of 63 years of John C. Finney, and the beloved mother of David R. (Pamela Klein) Finney of Jefferson Township.
<B>FINNEY </B>— Friends of Mildred Elizabeth "Millie" Fryer Finney, who died Friday, April 14, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Alfred Petrill, her church pastor, officiating.
