8:37 p.m. Monday — Laura Whitling of Butler reported that her son's bicycle was taken from South Main Street. The bike is a silver Mongoose model.2:26 a.m. Sunday — Mickey Blystone, 38, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence on East Locust Street. He was also cited for careless driving and driving with a suspended license.1:28 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Morris Hoskins. 34, of Farmingdale, N.Y. and a sport utility vehicle driven by William Parkes, 54, of Herman collided at North Washington and West Cunningham streets.Kenneth Hoskins, 37, of Amityville, N.Y., a passenger in the car wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.5:30 a.m. Saturday — Dean Mentzer, 59, of Washington Manor Home on South Washington Street, is accused of huffing paint thinner at his second floor apartment.Officers called to the building reported a noxious odor permeating the entire floor. Mentzer is charged with illegal use of solvents and disorderly conduct for causing a hazardous situation.1:10 a.m. Friday — Mark Francis, 24, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence on Delwood Drive. He is charged with theft, driving too fast for conditions and failing to stop at a stop sign.Police said the theft charge was filed after the arresting officer noticed a plastic, lighted traffic barrier in Francis' car. The device, owned by Jisco Distributors, is valued at $65.
1:27 a.m. Monday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Kathleen Ihlenfeld, 25, of Connoquenessing struck a large tree at Reiber Road and Plateau Street.Ihlenfeld was treated for unknown injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Monday — A handgun was taken from a car at the Mayfield Avenue home of Benjamin Brown in Center Township. The theft occurred between 9:30 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 a.m. Monday.4:43 p.m. Sunday — Cars driven by Sally Mae McDougall, 66, of Slippery Rock and William King, 53, of Butler collided at Route 8 and DuffyRoad in Brady Township. McDougall was cited for not stopping at a stop sign.3:30 a.m. Sunday — David Uber, 28, of Pittsburgh was injured when he was hit by an unidentified vehicle on Route 108 in Slippery Rock.Uber said he was walking on the berm of the road when a vehicle swerved off the road and hit his right leg, knocking him to the ground. He was unable to provide police with a make, model or color of the vehicle. He suffered moderate injuries, police said.12:55 a.m. Sunday — Apickup truck driven by Joshua Reott, 22, of Butler traveled over the concrete median and struck an embankments on Route 422 at the Mitchell Hill exit in Summit Township.11:30 p.m. Saturday — Daniel Wimer, 39, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle struck two utility poles along Route 4008 and Stoughton Road in Slippery Rock Township.Wimer, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown out of the vehicle and suffered moderate injuries.11:45 p.m. Friday — Matthew Rairigh, 24, of Pittsburgh was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on New Castle Road in Butler Township.6:35 p.m. May 8 — Donald Josephs, 47, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence at North Main and East Walnut streets in Butler. He was also cited for three undisclosed traffic violations.May 1 — Nothing was reported taken from a garage in a burglary between April 29 and May 1 at the Freeport Road home of Alvin Wise in Jefferson Township. The garage door sustained $750 in damage in the break-in.
