Victory over Central keeps Rockets alive for playoffs
Ryan Hays hit a solo home run, doubled and singled as the SlipperyRock High School baseball team kept its playoff hopes alive with a 10-5 win over Erie Central.
Billy Messer singled three times and drove in two runs, and Mark White collected three singles for the Rockets (10-6).

• Jesse Alfreno pitched seven strong innings, striking out seven, as Grove City split a doubleheader with Meadville, dropping the first game 5-1 and claiming the nightcap 7-2.
Craig Boliver drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh inning as the Eagles scored four runs in the frame.
