Cumberland 50th anniversary

The Cumberlands in 1956

Dale and Elma Cumberland of North Washington will celebrate 50 years of marriage with an open house from 2 to 7 p.m. May 20 at their home, 111 Calico Road, North Washington. The event will be hosted by their children.

The former Elma Jordan married Cumberland on May 19, 1956, at the parsonage of Bruin Presbyterian Church.

They have five children, Colleen King of Kittanning, Rosalyn Johnston of Petrolia, Steven Cumberland of West Sunbury and Diane Kriley and Ronald Cumberland, both of North Washington.

They also have 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.Cumberland is retired from Armco, where he worked as a locomotive operator. He enjoys hunting, riding motorcycles and boating.Mrs. Cumberland is a homemaker. She enjoys sports, bowling and reading.The couple belongs to Concord Presbyterian Church in Hooker.The couple requests no gifts.
