Ellen E. Galena

Ellen E. Galena, 70, of Main Street in Emlenton died at 6:12 p.m. Thursday at her home after a brief illness.

Born Nov. 5, 1935, in West Monterey, Clarion County, she was the daughter of Arthur and Mamie Clark Bartley.

She was a member of the Emlenton United Methodist Church. She also belonged to the Parker Fire Department and the Foxburg American Legion auxiliaries.

Mrs. Galena was a homemaker and enjoyed bingo, yard sales, crocheting and cooking.

She had been a caregiver and housekeeper for several elderly people in the Emlenton area.

Surviving are two sons and their wives, Randy L. and Vicky Johns of Parker and William and Lori Galena of Stoneboro; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marty L. and Wayne Dunkle of Clarion and Sandy L. and Steve Jackson of Emlenton; five grandchildren, Charles L. Johns and his wife, Mandy, and Elizabeth Weiland and her husband, Travis, all of Butler and Sharon M., Amanda L. and Brandy L. Jackson, all of Emlenton; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Johns of Butler.

She also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Terry (Kate) Kinney of Parker and Mrs. Rod (Sara) Hopper of Foxburg; four brothers, Jim Bartley of West Monterey, David Bartley of Kaylor and Donald and Thomas Bartley, both of Parker; a special friend, Betty Patterson of Emlenton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Her husband, James Galena, died April 21, 1992. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Bartley; three brothers, Larry, Edward and Jerry Bartley; and a grandson, Justin L. Johns.

<B>GALENA</B> — Friends of Ellen E. Galena, who died Thursday, March 30, 2006, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>Hile Funeral Home</B>, 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Chris Clark, pastor of the Chapel on the Hill Assembly of God in Emlenton, officiating. Burial will be at the Emlenton Cemetery.
