Donald L. Menken

Donald L. Menken, 83, of Dunedin, Fla., died Sunday at Woodside Hospice House, Pinellas Park, Fla.

Born March 31, 1922, in Tarentum, he was the son of Carrie and Elmer Menken.

He served in Europe with the Army during World War II.

After the war, he graduated from Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh and then started his career as an accountant in the Wear Ever Division of Alcoa. Following his retirement from Alcoa, he served as the fiscal administrator for Butler County before retiring to Florida in 1980.

Mr. Menken enjoyed fishing. He was an avid sports fan and especially supported the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Dunedin, where he served as a head usher. He was also a Mason and a Shriner.Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Audrey Chestnut Menken of Dunedin; and two children, Donna M. Parsons of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and John W. Menken of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

<B>MENKEN</B> — Graveside services for Donald L. Menken, who died Sunday, March 26, 2006, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Sarversville Cemetery, Sarver, with the Rev. James Neal, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport, officiating.A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Dunedin.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice Foundation of the Florida Suncoast, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760; St. Mark Lutheran Church; or the American Cancer Society.Arrangements are being handled by the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, Saxonburg.
