Axel F. Martenson

Axel F. Martenson, 94, of Frewsburg Rest Home in Frewsburg, N.Y., formerly of Durant Avenue in Jamestown, N.Y., died at noon Sunday at the Heritage Green Health Care Center, Greenhurst, N.Y.

Born March 21, 1912, in Kane, he was the son of Hugo Martenson and Jennie Nyberg.

He had been a hotel manager for the Richford Operating Corp. in Buffalo, Erie and Rochester.

Mr. Martenson was a member of the First Baptist of Dunkirk, N.Y. He was a member of the New York State Civil Defense Commission, the Buffalo Area Chamber of Commerce, the New York State Hotel and Motel Association and the New York Republican State Committee.

During World War II, he served with the Navy in the Pacific (Y 2C Special Assignment).

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne M. Andres Martenson; three brothers, and three sisters.

<B>MARTENSON </B>— Services for Axel F. Martenson, who died Sunday, March 26, 2006, will be held at noon Thursday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Visitation will follow from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Information also is available at www.thompson-miller.com.
