Cleo C. Yahn

Cleo C. Yahn, 90, of NorthView Estates in Ellwood City, formerly a longtime resident of Evans City, died Friday evening.

Born in Logansport, May 29, 1915, she was the daughter of A. B. "Bart" and Blanche Cleo Miller Caldwell.

She was a member of the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church of Ellwood City.

Mrs. Yahn graduated from Parker High School in 1934 and later attended The Butler Business College.

She had been an assistant store manager of a variety store in Evans City and also had worked for Troutman's department store in Butler and at the Citizens National Bank in Evans City.

For many years, she volunteered with the Ellwood City Meals on Wheels and in the snack and gift bar at the Ellwood City Hospital. She was a founding member of the Evans City Business and Professional Women's Club.

Surviving are a son, Christopher B. Yahn of Ellwood City; a sister, Mrs. Leland (Nanna) Iman of Zelienople; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death, by her husband, Franklin E. Yahn, who died Dec. 14, 1985; two sisters; and a brother.

<B>YAHN</B> — No public visitation is planned. Graveside services for Cleo C. Yahn, who died Friday, March 24, 2006, will be held at the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Lawrence County, with Chaplain Sam Blair of Gateway Health Systems Hospice officiating.The <B>TURNER FUNERAL HOME</B>, Ellwood City, is in charge of arrangements.Memorial contributions may be made to the Ellwood City Meals on Wheels, Ellwood City Public Library, Lincoln High School Library or Westminster College General Scholarship Fund.
