PITTSBURGH — Seneca Valley graduate Jason Conti signed a minor-league contract Monday to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates' Triple-A team in Indianapolis.

Conti, who was drafted by Arizona in 1996, played with the Diamondbacks for parts of the 2000 and 2001 seasons before being traded to Tampa Bay in July 2001.

He saw some action with the Devil Rays before being traded to Milwaukee before the 2003 season. Conti had 52 at-bats with the Brewers that year, but was granted free agency after the season.

Conti, who has a .238 career batting average, last played in the major leagues in 2004, when he got 60 at-bats for the Texas Rangers.
