Reba Jean Meier, 81, of 1389 W. Park Road in Worth Township died at 4 a.m. Monday at Orc-hard Manor, Grove City.

Born in Slippery Rock Township, March 24, 1924, she was the daughter of Llewellyn McKinley Rodgers and Sherrill Maxwell.

She was a member of the Wolf Creek Presbyterian Church, Worth Township, where she was active in the church choir and was a member of the Workers Class. She also belonged to the Slippery Rock American Legion Auxiliary and the Grove City Eastern Star and White Shrine.

Mrs. Meier graduated from The Butler Business College and had been a bookkeeper at the First National Bank of Slippery Rock. After her children were raised, she worked with her husband at Fred Meier Hardware of Slippery Rock.

Surviving are her husband, Frederick Meier, whom she married Sept. 10, 1946; two daughters and their husbands, Deborah Kay and Michael Pagano of Chicago, Ill., and Shirlann M. and Mark Finch of Slippery Rock; and four grandchildren, Gina Cirrito, Andrea Pagano and Megan and Kevin Finch.

<B>MEIER </B>— Friends of Reba Jean Meier, who died Monday, March 20, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>SMITH FUNERAL HOME</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Fraley, her church pastor, officiating.
