Seneca Valley drops Hampton, 6-3

Courtney Grootegoed pitched a complete game with six strikeouts and went 3-for-3 at the plate with a home run and two singles to lead Seneca Valley to a 6-3 softball victory over Hampton Monday.

Tina Mangola homered and added two singles for the Raiders.

In other games:

n After spotting Jamestown a 5-0 lead after two innings, Grove City battled back to pull out a 7-6 victory.

• New Castle used 11 hits and eight Butler errors to come away with an 11-1, five-inning victory.
