RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. — Karrie Webb climbed back to her Hall of Fame standards with a stunning playoff victory in the Kraft Nabisco Championship on Sunday.
Webb closed with a 7-under 65, then made a 7-foot birdie putt in the playoff to beat Lorena Ochoa and capture her seventh career major.
Ochoa collapsed on the back nine, only to recover with an eagle on the closing hole and a 72.
Michelle Wie, the 16-year-old phenom from Hawaii, was 25 feet away from winning until a missed chip and a bad putt left a stroke out of the playoff with Natalie Gulbis.
It was Webb's first victory since 2004, and the Australian's first major since she won the 2002 Women's British Open at Turnberry.
DULUTH, Ga. — Phil Mickelson completed a wire-to-wire victory in the BellSouth Classic, closing with a 7-under 65 for a 28-under 260 total and a 13-stroke victory.Mickelson capped his round with an eagle putt on 18, his second eagle of the day.Mickelson matched the course record with an opening 63 Thursday and was 5 under or better every day while winning his second straight BellSouth title.The left-hander's first win of the year made him the tournament's first three-time champion.Jose Maria Olazabal (69) and Zach Johnson (70) tied for second.
PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico — Morris Hatalsky won his first Champions Tour title in nearly three years, closing with a 2-under 70 for a one-stroke victory over Scott Simpson in the Blue Agave Golf Classic.Mike Reid (70) and Gil Morgan (71) tied for third at 7 under.

PETERSBURG, Fla. — Helio Castroneves won Sunday's Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg when Scott Dixon's fuel strategy came up just short.Castroneves, who failed to finish any of the three road or street course events last year, led a race-high 40 laps this time. It was his 14th career IndyCar win.Tony Kanaan finished third, followed by Bryan Herta, Kosuke Matsuura, Vitor Meira and last year's top rookie Danica Patrick.
MELBOURNE, Australia — World champion Fernando Alonso held off Kimi Raikkonen on Sunday to win the Australian Grand Prix for his 10th career Formula One victory.Alonso now has two wins in three races this season after claiming the Bahrain GP last month and leads the drivers standings with 28 points.Toyota driver Ralf Shumacher finished third.
KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. — Roger Federer came from behind in every tiebreaker to claim Nasdaq-100 Open title for the second year in a row Sunday, beating Ivan Ljubicic 7-6 (5), 7-6 (4), 7-6 (6).The top-ranked Federer remained unbeaten since August 2004 in the United States.
