McCandless, Skarbek

Nicole and Justin Skarbek

Renfrew residents Nicole McCandless and Justin Skarbek were united in marriage at 3 p.m. July 23 at the Succop Conservancy in Penn Township. the Rev. Sandra Alexsis officiated. A reception followed at the conservancy.

The bride is the daughter of Bruce and Debbie McCandless of West Sunbury. Parents of the bridegroom are Ken Skarbek and Dolores Skarbek, both of Punxsutawney.

The maid of honor was Emily DiMatteo of Shaler. Bridesmaids included Kate Brown of Mechanicsburg and Julia Black and Sarah Bayne, both of Fairfax, Va. The flower girl was Gretchen Shaffer of Fombell.

Serving the bridegroom as best man was C.J. Morgante of Slippery Rock. Ushers included Brian McCandless of West Sunbury, John Moritz of North Versailles and Mark Schneider of Tampa, Fla. The ring bearer was Johnny Moritz of North Versailles.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Butler High School and a 2003 graduate of Slippery Rock University.

The bridegroom graduated in 1993 from Punxsutawney High School and in 1997 from Slippery Rock University.

Following a honeymoon trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple is making their home in Renfrew.
