Ballard, Shiever
Melissa Ballard and Eric Shiever, both of Renfrew, were united in marriage at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Butler. The Rev. Robert Strobel officiated. Areception followed at The Atrium in Prospect.
The bride is the daughter of Richard and Rosemary Ballard of Renfrew. Parents of the bridegroom are Harry and Nancy Shiever, also of Renfrew.
The matron of honor was Amy Dickson of Butler. Bridesmaids included Melissa DeMatteis of Boyers; Carrie Pletcher and Julie Johnson, both of Rockwood; and Beth Petrillo of Somerset. The flower girl was Nicole Ballard of Boyers.
Performing the duties of best man was H.R. Shiever of Hong Kong. Ushers included Kevin Porneluzi and Eric Scuoteguazza, both of Butler; Richard Ballard Jr. of Boyers; and Todd Cowoski of Chicora. The ring bearer was Clay Potochny of Butler.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of Knoch High School and a 2001 graduate of Slippery Rock University. She works for the Butler County Children and Youth Agency in Butler.
The bridegroom graduated in 1998 from Butler High School and in 1992 from Colorado State University. He works at the Butler Farm Market in Butler Township.
Following a honeymoon trip to Hawaii, the couple is making their home in Butler.
