Brehm 50th anniversary
Howard "Hub" and Agnes Laverne "Vernie"Brehm of Chicora celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a surprise reception given by their children at the North Washington Social Hall.
The former Agnes Laverne Ryan married Brehm on Feb. 17, 1956, in Pittsburgh.
They have six children, Karen Trimbur and David Brehm, both of Chicora; Howard Brehm III of Granite Bay, Calif.; Susan Myers of Hilliards; Robert Brehm of West Sunbury; and Cathy McCandless of Butler. They also have 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Brehm is a retired truck owner and operator. Aveteran of the Marine Corps., he enjoys working in his vegetable and spice garden.Mrs. Brehm is a former employee of Castle Rubber in East Butler. A homemaker, she works part-time cleaning offices. She enjoys sewing and baking.The couple also enjoys sports and are avid Steelers fans.
