2:50 a.m. today— Maria Fragale, 38, no known address, was arrested after she was found driving a reportedly stolen car on Ballpark Street.Mary McDonald of Butler on Sunday had filed a stolen car report with police. She told police she had last seen the car March 3, the day she was arrested in a drug case and placed in the Butler County Prison. She discovered the car missing when she was released and returned home.Fragale is charged with receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia.10:15 a.m. Sunday — Police found a 3-year-old girl, wearing only a T-shirt and diaper, standing on the porch of a Hansen Avenue home. The girl was "soaking wet"from the rain, and her bare feet were dirty from walking around the yard at the home, a police report said.Police spoke with the girl's grandfather, Melvin Hunter, 53, who lives at the house and was caring for the child and her 5-year-old brother overnight."(Hunter) stated (the girl) doesn't stay with him very often and he sometimes forgets that she is even there," the report said.Hunter, who told police that he thought all the doors were locked, is charged with endangering the welfare of children.Police contacted the children's mother, of Slippery Rock, who came and retrieved the children.3:26 a.m. — Ginger Andrews, 41, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence at West North and North Chestnut streets. She was also cited for driving the wrong way on a one-way street.6:15 p.m. Saturday — Atractor-trailer driven by Robert Kaduck, 47, of Harwick, Allegheny County, turned from West Cunningham Street onto South Main Street, causing the trailer to go over the curb and striking a wood-framed permanent overhang at the Cycle Warehouse building.5:25 p.m. Saturday — Lee McKain, 29, of Butler and Erica Boltz, 25, of Chicora face drug-related charges after they were found in a car parked at the A-Plus parking lot on East Jefferson Street.Aclerk at the store called police when she became worried about the condition of the defendants, who had been in the parked car for an extended period of time.Police searched the car and seized suspected narcotics, a needle, spoon and other drug paraphernalia.McKain is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness. Boltz is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.1:41 p.m. Friday — Ruth O'Shea, 78, of 400 Virginia Ave., Apt. 4, is accused of taking her neighbor's cat and drawing stripes on its head with a magic marker.Police found the cat at the defendant's home after its owner, Tammy Pagan, of 402 Virginia Ave., reported the pet had gotten loose. Pagan suspected O'Shea of taking the cat.The defendant denied she had the cat and allowed police to search her home. An officer found the white cat, which had stripes applied to its head from a black permanent marker."(The officer) asked O'Shea why she had applied stripes to the cat,"Apolice report said. "O'Shea would not answer and only smiled and laughed."She is charged with theft and cruelty to animals.
9:14 p.m. Saturday —Christopher Ealy, 24, of Parker was arrested for allegedly knocking another man unconscious with a steel post at a Main Street home in Chicora.Police said Ealy and William Wagner, 40, of Chicora were arguing when the defendant hit Wagner in the back of the head with a 3-foot-long steel sign post. Wagner was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital where he was treated for a large gash in his head.Ealy was arraigned for aggravated assault, and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bond.6:27 p.m. Friday — Kenneth Elwood, 20, of Kittanning faces drug-related charges following a traffic stop on Saxonburg Boulevard in Clinton Township.Police searched Elwood's car and found a pipe with suspected marijuana in it. He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and undisclosed traffic violations.3:10 p.m. Friday — An unidentified blue Chevrolet Prism struck the rear of a pickup truck on Route 68, near Brownsdale Road in Connoquenessing Township, and did not stop following the crash. Steven Hottenfeller, 31, of Lyndora, was driving the pickup.Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.
2:25 a.m. Sunday — Samuel Ramsey, 55, of Grove City was arrested for driving under the influence on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township, Mercer County. He was also cited for careless driving and a lane violation.
