11:30 a.m. Thursday — An unknown vehicle struck a car owned by Christine Smith of Butler while it was parked in the Moose Lodge parking lot on West Jefferson Street, and it fled the scene.10:41 a.m. Tuesday — A Mack truck driven by Carl Rodgers Jr., 68, of Slippery Rock struck a parked vehicle owned by Lorraine Codispot, 41, of Butler on East Wayne Street.
3 p.m. Wednesday — Vaughn Scudder, 54, of East Butler was charged with driving under the influence after his van struck a guardrail and embankment on Delwood Road before overturned. Although Scudder received a minor injury, he refused medical treatment. This will be his Scudder's fourth DUI offense.
Monday — Babcock Excavation Inc. of Pittsburgh reported the theft of a $600 windshield from an excavator at a construction site near Route 228 in Middlesex Township that occurred between 4 p.m. March 3 and 7:30 a.m. Monday. Anyone with information about the theft should call police at 724-284-8100.Thursday — The Butler County Soccer Association reported the theft of an unspecified amount of money from the pop machine and a break-in at the concession stand and storage garage at its fields on Palmer Road in Center Township between Feb. 25 and Thursday. The pop machine was broken into with a hammer. A pending inventory of the concession stand will determine the total value of the theft. Anyone with information about the incident should call state police at 724-284-8100.10:35 p.m. Friday — A blue Dodge pickup driven by an unknown white man struck two parked vehicles, owned by Susan Buckowski of Butler and Terrance Scott of Saxonburg, in the parking lot Alexander's Bar on Route 356 in Windfield Township. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run accident should call police at 724-284-8100.10:30 p.m. Friday — John Myers, 41, of Parker reported the theft of a Firestorm .380-caliber handgun and one box of .380 rounds from his Ford truck while it was parked on North River Avenue in Parker between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.3:10 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Matthew Ryan, 22, of Emlenton was traveling on Route 38 in Cherry Valley when it swerved to avoid a branch on the road and struck a utility pole. Ryan, who was wearing a seat belt, received a minor leg injury. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and for several summary traffic violations. The Eau Claire Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene,
7 p.m. Feb. 27 — A vehicle driven by Paula Kijowski, age unavailable, was traveling on Route 28 in Buffalo Township when it struck a guardrail on the icy road. Kijowski was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.9:20 p.m. Thursday — Herbert Voss Kerr, 46, of Leechburg was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.
