Lester E. Smith, 73, of Worthington died Thursday at his home.

Born Nov. 17, 1932, in Worthington, he was the son of Charles H. and Garnet J. Bowser Smith.

He was a lifelong resident of Worthington and was self-employed.

Mr. Smith was a life member of the Buffalo Valley Sportsman's Club.

Surviving are his wife, Mona Jean Crawford Smith, whom he married in October 1953 in Worthington; two sons, Terry L. and Tim L. Smith, both of Worthington; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. He also is survived by two brothers, Donald Smith of Rock Spring Wyo., and Dale Smith of Montana.

A sister preceded him in death.

<B>SMITH</B> — Friends of Lester E. Smith, who died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 424 Bear St., Worthington. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Earl Watterson officiating. Burial will be at the Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery.
