Granville 'Granny' Lias
Granville Kirtley "Granny" Lias, 64, of Murrayville, Ga., formerly of Ellwood City, died Jan. 27 at his home after a long illness.
Born March 18, 1941, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late George and Kirtley Lias.
He was an engineer with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
Mr. Lias was a member of the River Community Church of Murrayville.
He is survived by his wife, Rene Lias; two sons, Lincoln of Portersville and Jacob of Murrayville; three daughters, Patricia Lias and Debora Cookson, both of Butler, and Samantha Lias of Murrayville; and five grandsons.
Also surviving are a sister, Roberta Redmond of Ellwood City; two brothers, George Lias of Ellwood City and David Lias of Wampum; and several nieces and nephews.
<B>LIAS</B> — Friends of Granville Kirtley "Granny" Lias, who died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, are invited to a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, 527 North St., Ellwood City. The Rev. Craig Smallwood, church pastor, and the Rev. Dick Allen, a family friend and pastor of the Chewton Christian Church, will officiate.Funeral services also were at River Community Church and burial was at Dahlonega Memorial Park in Georgia.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Transplant Assistance Fund, 150 N.
