1:18 p.m. Thursday — Dwayne Upshur, 45, and George F. Wheeler, 28, both of Pittsburgh, were arrested for allegedly stealing 10 pallets worth a total of $100 from the Kmart store on Hansen Avenue. Both men were charged with receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy and theft. Upshur also was charged with driving with a suspended license. The Kmart employee told police there have been a rash of pallet thefts from stores recently. The suspects were arraigned and placed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $1,000 bond each.

9:32 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Iyla Zelmanov, 25, of Pittsburgh was traveling on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township when it struck a guardrail. Zelmanov was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. The driver was cited for a summary traffic violation.6:53 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Salana Oliver, 26, of Frostburg was traveling on Interstate 79 in Worth Township when it struck a guardrail. Oliver was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.6 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Deborah Fields, 36, Lyndora was traveling on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township when it left the icy road, hitting a guardrail and spun. Fields, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. She was cited for not driving a vehicle at a safe speed.9:30 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Cynthia Striffler, 44, of Sewickley struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Cheryl Schnupp, 54, of Dravosburg on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Striffler was not injured while Schnupp complained of back pain. Striffler was cited for following the other vehicle too closely.7:10 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Kimberly Pfeifer, 42, of Sarver was traveling on Westminster Road in Clinton Township when it struck a drainage ditch, spun and rolled onto the driver's side. Pfeifer was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. The Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department assisted with traffic control.7:50 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Donald Welker, age unavailable, of Harmony was traveling on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township when it struck a guardrail. Welker and his passengers, Gladys Shagen, age unavailable, of Harmony and Patricia Omstead, age unavailable, of Zelienople, were wearing seat belts and were not injured.3 a.m. Thursday — Deanne Dunn, 42, of Butler was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 8 in Center Township.12:05 p.m. Thursday — Two teenagers, a 17-year-old Parker male and a 16-year-old Chicora female, were charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana after being found with the drug at Karns City High School in Fairview Township.Wednesday — Cody Dunbar, 20, of East Butler reported the theft of an unspecified amount of money and a purse and wallet owned by Erica Bartolomeo, 19, from his residence at 115 10th St., Apt. 10, between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Anyone with information about the theft should call state police at 724-284-8100.Thursday — Duane Reott reported the theft of a Pioneer CD/radio and several CDs from his vehicle parked at his 653 Mushrush Road home in Jefferson Township between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday. Anyone with information about the theft should call state police at 724-284-8100.4:30 p.m. Wednesday — Four teenagers were taken into custody after escaping from Summit Academy, a juvenile facility. Along with three Pittsburgh juveniles, Dontay Sowell, 18, also of Pittsburgh, fled on foot into a wooded area in Summit Township, leading to a brief pursuit. All four were taken to the Shuman Center in Pittsburgh.

5:15 a.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Paula Henry, 51, of Kittanning was traveling on Craigsville Road in West Franklin Township, Armstrong County, when it slid on ice, rolling onto its side. Henry, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to ACMH Hospital for treatment of a minor back injury.1 p.m. Wednesday — William McCrea, 46, of Chicora reported the theft of items totaling $405 from his Thompson Road residence.

1:05 a.m. Thursday — Dan W. Fair Jr., 29, of Parker was taken into custody for violating a restraining order to stay away from Angela Cogswell, 30, of Rimersburg. Around 12:40 a.m., Fair allegedly went to Cogswell's residence and took her to her sister's Main Street residence, where he allegedly grabbed and pushed Cogswell against the wall before leaving. After leaving Rimersburg, Fair's truck struck an embankment on Cherry Run Road. Neither Fair nor his passenger, Brandon Foust, 20, of Parker, were injured. After fleeing the wreck on foot, Fair was found at his Black Fox Road residence.

7:08 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Terry McCandless, 23, of Ellwood City was traveling on Plain Grove Road in Scott Township when it slid across the icy road into a guardrail. Neither McCandless nor his three passengers were injured.5:10 p.m. Thursday — A truck driven by Lawrence Smith, 47, of Pittsburgh was traveling on Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township when it slid on the icy road and hit an embankment. Smith was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
