Falcons fall in semifinal
Ted Marron scored 15 points and Sean Foust added 11, but the A-C Valley boys basketball team's bid for a District 9 title came to an end Wednesday night with a 70-50 loss to Elk County Catholic in the Class A semifinals at Clarion University.
The Falcons trailed just 33-26 at halftime, but were outscored 20-8 in the third period.
A-C Valley (20-6) will face Ridgway (18-9) in the district consolation game at 11 a.m. Saturday at Clarion University to determine the district's third and fourth seeds in the PIAA playoffs.
ECC (26-0) will play Coudersport for the district championship at 7 p.m. Saturday, also at Clarion University.
