3:11 a.m. today — Darrell McKrell, 27, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, Jeanie Stewart, 20, at the couple's West Wayne Street home. McKrell is charged with simple assault and harassment.3:32 p.m. Feb. 13 — Cars driven by Shane Caldwell, 19, of Kittanning and Janet Rikal, 35, of Butler collided at Ash and Sundale streets. Rikal and Jennifer Wagner, 21, of Butler, a passenger in Caldwell's car, suffered minor injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.
4 p.m. Sunday — Cars driven by Tammy Aul, 40, of Connoquenessing and Helen Thompson, 41, of Butler collided on Sunset Drive and West Holyoke Road in Center Township.2:30 a.m. Sunday — Alfonso Peralta, 30, of Clay Township was arrested for driving under the influence after his car crashed on North Duffy Road in Center Township.12:44 a.m. Sunday — A car driven by Brian Shannon, 26, of Monroeville, Allegheny County, crashed into the median on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Shannon, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Police said he faces charges of driving to fast for conditions and not wearing a seat belt as well as a lane violation.Sunday — About 150 compact discs valued at $1,500 were taken between 10 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday from a vehicle on Rancindin Road near Caldwell Drive in Jefferson Township. Robert Seibel of Butler owns the stolen property.9 p.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by Stanley Mizak, 37, of Slippery Rock struck a tree along Kudzma Road in Clay Township.6:12 p.m. Saturday — Two Butler County men were arrested after police allegedly found 66 stamp bags of suspected heroin in the Connoquenessing Township home where they were staying.Andrew Lucas, 25, of Butler and Kasey Dischman, 19, of Evans City are charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Dischman is also charged with hindering apprehension.Police said that in addition to the suspected heroin, they found a small amount of crack at the home on West Pheasant Drive. Lucas and Dischman were arraigned on charges and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bond and $15,000 bond, respectively.12:42 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Steven Shuler, 23, of Butler struck a guardrail at Route 356 and Simon Road in Jefferson Township. Shuler, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered unknown injuries.Saturday — An unknown burglar between Feb. 11 and Saturday broke into a shed at the Browns Mill Road home of Josh Hoover in Middlesex Township and removed numerous parts from an all-terrain vehicle.5:36 p.m. Friday — Cars driven by Rachelle Russo, 38, of Mars and Amy Pohl, 32, of Cranberry Township collided on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township. Pohl's car traveled onto a traffic island and struck a sign. Russo was cited for a yield sign violation.Friday — One person was charged for driving under the influence and two people were arrested on drug-related charges during a DUI checkpoint operation on Route 38 in Center Township. Police also issued one traffic citation and 17 warnings.Jan. 19 — Thomas Simmons, 29, of Chicora was arrested for driving under the influence on Legion Alley in Chicora. Police said in addition to DUI, Simmons is charged with possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, public drunkenness and several other traffic citations.
8:15 p.m. Friday — An SUV driven by a 17-year-old Grove City male was traveling on Fisher Road in Sandy Lake Township, Mercer County, when it slid off the snow-covered road, hitting a ditch and rolling onto its right side. Both the driver and his passenger, Ryan Hall, 18, of Stoneboro, were wearing seat belts and were not injured.
2 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by David Freilino, 23, of Rimersburg and a car driven by Carl Hurrelbrink, 24, of Knox collided at the intersection of Canoe Ripple and Whitmer roads in Licking Township, Clarion County. Both men were wearing seat belts and received minor injuries. One of Hurrelbrink's passengers, Billie Vanwormer, 27 of Knox, was not wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries. A second passenger, Shawn Hurrelbrink, 8 months old, was in a child safety seat and was not injured. All of the people were taken for treatment to Clarion Hospital and were released.
