Richard and Greta Monnie of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage recently. A family picnic was held in August to celebrate.

The former Greta Billman married Monnie on Nov. 17, 1955, at North Street Church of Christ in Butler.

They have five children, Deborah Clark, Donna Cranmer and Douglas Monnie, all of Butler; Karen Mayfield of Noel, Mo.; and Denise McCormick of Linesville.

They also have eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Monnie is retired from Armco.

Mrs. Monnie is a former employee of Butler Senior High School, where she worked in the cafeteria.

The couple belongs to Faith Fellowship Alliance Church.
