At least some of the high school postseason picture is now in focus.

Both the WPIAL and District 9 announced most of the times, dates and places for their playoffs Thursday.

In WPIAL playoff action, the Butler girls will play Gateway at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fox Chapel.

In the other Quad-A girls game involving area teams, Seneca Valley will battle Hempfield at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Plum.

The Mars girls will play Keystone Oaks at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the first game of a Class AAA doubleheader at North Hills.

In the second game, the Knoch boys take on South Park at 8.

The Freeport boys play Farrell at 8 p.m. today at Plum.

In District 9, the Union boys will host Kane at 7 p.m. Wednesday in a Class A play-in game.

The A-C Valley boys will travel to Smethport next Friday for a 7 p.m. tip-off.

The Karns City girls and the Moniteau boys, both No. 1 seeds in Class AA, received first-round byes and won't play their first playoff game until the end of the month.

District 9 didn't release its Class A girls bracket. The Union girls will receive the No. 1 seed after going 23-1 in the regular season.

The District 10 playoffs, which will feature the Slippery Rock girls and the Grove City boys teams, will start Wednesday. No brackets have been released as of yet in that district.
