Grove City falls to Hickory

Julie Molloy scored 18 points, but the Grove City High School girls basketball team closed the season with a 36-33 loss to Hickory Thursday night.

Molloy finished with 499 points in her senior season and scored more than 1,000 in her career.

Grove City finished 11-13 overall and 2-10 in the region. It was only the second losing season for the Eagles in the last 27 years.

"I just want to commend our three seniors for playing so hard this season," said Grove City coach Roger Flynn.
