POLICE REPORTS

These items have been collected from various police departments.

9:24 a.m. Thursday — Cars driven by Laurie Christy, 50, of Butler and Gerald Krauchak, 66, of Center Township collided at North Washington and West North streets.

10:30 a.m. Monday — Sport utility vehicles driven by Caroline Liptak, 237, of Kittanning and Kathleen Treadway, 51, of Jefferson Township collided at Kittanning and Monroe streets. Liptak was cited for running a red light.

11:05 p.m. Sunday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Gerald Palmer, 36, of Butler Township struck the rear of a van at Jefferson and McKean street. The collision forced the van, driven by Cecil Mew, 43, of Forward Township into the rear of a car driven by Evelyn Twerdok, 53, of Butler.

10:29 p.m. Saturday — An unidentified vehicle struck a utility pole at West New Castle and Mercer streets and did not stop after the crash. Police said they found a large piece of a passenger side fender, maroon-colored, at the crash site.

10:45 p.m. Jan. 28 — An unknown person driving a small red vehicle struck a parked vehicle owned by Loretta Wiskeman of West Sunbury in the Monroe Hotel parking lot.

10:30 p.m. Thursday — A 17-year-old Sarver boy, who police did not identify, was arrested for retail theft, public drunkenness, and underage drinking after allegedly stealing candy at the Giant Eagle on Route 356.

5:45 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Jacqueline Raynovich, 34, of Arnold, Westmoreland County skidded off snow-covered Bonniebrook Road near Route 356 in Jefferson Township and struck the side of a building.

2:45 a.m. Thursday — A pickup truck driven by Aaron Hayden, 22, of Natrona, Allegheny County, struck a utility pole along Route 356 in Summit Township. Hayden and two passengers, James McCarroll, 24, and Frederick Leeman, 30, both of Natrona, suffered minor injuries; all were wearing seat belts.

10:30 p.m. Wednesday — Howard Erdley Jr., 40, of Ford City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle struck the rear of a car driven by Verna Christian, 62, of Freeport on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township, Armstrong County. The crash caused Christian's car to spin onto the east berm.

Thursday — Jason Lynn Hites, 24, of Harrisville, deemed a sexual offender under the state's version of Megan's Law, is charged with failing to update his address in compliance with the law.

Police said Hites on Jan. 8 moved from Grove City to the Harrisville area but did not notify authorities at the time of his required annual address verification Feb. 3.

He was arraigned on two counts of failing to comply with registration of sexual offenders requirements. He is free on a $5,000 non-secured bond.

Thursday — Someone between 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday stole numerous tie-down chains and binders from two trailers at Ferguson Trucking on Route 173 in Pine Township, Mercer County. Robert Nupher of Harrisville and Richard Ferguson of Grove City own the stolen property.
