Allan and Meredith Daum of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a family dinner given by their children and grandchildren.

The former Meredith Simpson married Daum on Jan. 21, 1956, at Faith Lutheran Church in Oklahoma, Pa.

They have two children, Michele Hoobs and Warren Daum, both of Butler.

They also have three grandchildren.

Daum is retired from Butler Packing Company, where he worked as a salesman. He is the past president of Unionville Volunteer Fire Company, a member of the Butler Elks Club and is the co-host of the Saturday Morning Sports Journal radio show.

Mrs. Daum is retired from Butler Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a registered nurse.

The couple belongs to Trinity Lutheran Church.
