2:50 p.m. Friday — A truck driven by Shane Wood, 40, of Butler was traveling on Route 528 in Connoquenessing Township when it struck a utility pole. The driver was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.10:15 a.m. Friday — David Workman, 48, of Zelienople was charged with retail theft after being accused of stealing a $32 baseball cap from Boscov's Department Store at Clearview Mall in Center Township.

3 p.m. Jan. 28 — E. Stuart Claypoole, 75, of Worthington reported the theft $50 worth of copper wire from his barn on Worthington-Slate Lick Road in West Franklin Township. The grounding wire was cut from a barn lightning rod system, causing $450 in damage.
