Teen pageant at BC3 produces 2 winners

BUTLER TWP — Two winners were named Sunday night in the 2006 Miss Butler County Outstanding Teen/America and Miss Moraine State Outstanding Teen/America pageant held in the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.

The title of Miss Butler County Teen/America went to Brooke Miller of Portersville.

Hermitage resident Tawni Darby won the title of Miss Moraine State Teen/America.

Miller, 16, is the daughter of Ron and Rita Miller. A student at Portersville Christian School, her talent was a vocal performance of "Someone Like You."

Darby, 14, daughter of Walt and Lori Darby, is a student at A Beka Academy. She performed a lyrical dance to "Via Delaroso."Accompanying the two winning titles were cash prizes and paid entry to the Miss Pennsylvania Outstanding Teen/America event in June. The winner of the state pageant advances to the Miss Outstanding Teen/America pageant in August. Both pageants were launched in 2005.<BR></BR><BR></BR>

Kayla Molczan, 2005 Miss Butler County Outstanding Teen/America; Heather Pate, 2005 Miss Butler County America; and Darcie Bell, 2005 Miss Moraine State served as masters of ceremonies for the event.<BR></BR><BR></BR><BR></BR>

Annie Rosellini of Butler, 2005 Miss Pennsylvania Outstanding Teen, was a special guest during the event.To win the titles, contestants were judged in the categories of interview, talent, evening gown, casual wear and onstage questions.Also acknowledged in the pageant were Elena LaQuatra, 14, of Mount Lebanon, first runner-up, and Emiley Duespohl, 14, of Butler, second runner-up.A total of eight teens, ranging in age from 14 to 16, competed in the event.
