Butler Catholic will receive a $3,500 grant for collecting the most Yellow Pages directories in Butler County.
The "Recycle for Teachers" program, sponsored by R.H. Donnelley, publisher of Sprint Yellow Pages, collected the previous year's directories so they could be recycled.
Donna Cups of Butler Catholic collected more than 7,200 directories, the company said in a release.
St. Luke Lutheran School collected more than 3,280 directories. Because of that, principal Mark Wilt will receive a $1,500 grant for the school.
Butler Catholic plans to use the money to buy software and electronic equipment. St. Luke plans to buy new maps and an overhead projector.
CRANBERRY TWP — Archaeological finds at Graham Park will be the focus of a program Tuesday hosted by the Cranberry Historical Society.Archaeologist Christine Davis will discuss the reasons for excavating the park, what was found and the importance of the artifacts found.A display of the relics found will also be presented.The program will begin at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at the Cranberry Municipal Center, Rochester Road. CRANBERRY TWP — Zonta Three Rivers Pittsburgh North will host its third annual Glass Slipper Ball on Jan. 28 at the Four Points Sheraton.The event will raise scholarship funds presented to women throughout the region.The annual event will include a showcase of 24 chefs from local restaurants and catering companies, dance demonstrations, a silent auction and dancing.Tickets are $75 each.
