Baronetski leads Moniteau girls victory

Kristin Baronetski scored 23 points and also had 17 rebounds to lead the Moniteau girls basketball team to a narrow 45-40 victory over conference foe West Forest Wednesday night.

The Warriors (10-7, 7-1) also got nine points from Alyssa Deal.

Moniteau lost the lead briefly in the fourth quarter before rallying to post the victory.

Andrea Mortimer and Bethany Koch combined for 53 points as the Damsels shook off a sluggish start.

Mortimer finished with 27 and Koch 26 as Union (16-1, 7-0) led by just six at the half, but outscored Cranberry 26-4 in the third period to get rolling again.
